Spoon Trick
Sometimes my child does the most bizzare things. I don't know where he gets them either. The other day I heard the silverware drawer being tossed around. I went into the kitchen to see what was going on and Aiden was pulling two spoons out. He has to just reach and pull whatever he can grab (hence all the noise). Usually I will take them away but for some reason I decided the let him go about his business. He took the spoon over to the other side of the kitchen, threw it on the floor and then preceeded to stand on one foot while looking at the spoon. All I could think what 'What on Earth is he doing?' Was he looking at himself do a cool trick in the spoon? Was he just trying to copy something he saw on one of his shows? It's a total mystery. He did this all day too.

Tummy Slide
It's crazy that there are so many things to consider once your child really begins to move around. For example, in our house we have what seems like the STEEPEST and LONGEST set of stairs. Aiden just about gives me a heart attack every time he gets anywhere near the top of them. Unfortunatly, the stairs are his favorite place in the WHOLE ENTIRE HOUSE to play..AAARRRGG!
We keep them gated but he's starting to get strong and he's pulling them down.
ANYWAYS...
I began teaching him the proper way to handle the top of the stairs. I showed him that instead of going forward and trying to take a step down, he's to turn around, get on his knees and back up onto the stairs and go down them backwards on his knees. Surprisingly, he's grasped the concept really well. However, insead of going down the stairs one by one, he stretches his legs out behind him and slides down backwards on his tummy. I'm shocked that by now he doesn't have the worst rug burn on his belly.
It's really funny to watch. I'm still trying to get a shot of him in motion but it's proven to be really difficult because by the time I get my camera, he's down the whole staircase already...fast little buggar!!
Once I do get a shot...I'll be sure to share!! Until then, here are few of Aiden watching his FAVORITE SHOW in the entire world...YO GABBA GABBA...it's a weird one but he loves it!!
His hair is really getting long and curly!!
He's really concentration on something (BTW...this is how he uses the potty too..hehe)

Kicked out of Bed
Some mornings Aiden will decide that it's time to get up but Luke and I will STRONGLY disagree. On these frequent occasions we will go in and bring him into our room to hang out for a bit.
Yesterday morning was one of these mornings. I went and got Aiden, who was in a particularly good mood, and brought him back to our room. Usually I place him on the bed and he'll growl his way to daddy (he tries to scare Luke awake and it's really quite cute). This morning however he decided to sprawl out on my side of the bed and when I tried to crawl in next to him he KICKED ME BACK OUT...yeah, that's right...he shoved me right off the side of the bed.
As I gathered myself from the hysterical laughter that had come over me I peeked up over the side of the bed and Aiden and Luke are both sitting there looking at me with smiles from ear to ear. I wish I had taken a picture, it would have made a GREAT one. Next time I'll have to bring my camera to bed so that I'm better prepared.
For now, here are some older ones that I took a few weeks ago!

Bathtime
It's really becoming my favorite time of the day. Aiden just loves his baths. He especially loves it when I turn the water on and it comes pouring out of the faucet. He giggles and splashes around and it just makes my day. We usually make it a family affair. The three of us pile into the bathroom and Luke and I just watch him go nuts. We bought a chair that attaches to the side of the tub and it's the GREATEST THING EVER. It makes it so that I don't have to hold on to him every second. He can just sit and play!

Aiden's Half Birthday
Today is Aiden's half birthday. I think it's the only time in one's life when those around them will be excited about the "half" birthday. I can't believe how fast these 6 months have gone by. Gees, it seems like yesterday that I just found out I was pregnant with him. I do know one thing...I can't imagine what my life would be without him in it....probably pretty boring.
This week Luke is on nights so every evening Aiden and I have been hanging out together. We've been taking long walks (and an occasional run) in his jogger and he absolutely loves it. Ocassionally, when I hit a bump he'll giggle, which makes me giggle. There really is nothing better than the sound of your child laughing.
My mom's coming to visit tomorrow and I am very excited. She hasn't seen Aiden since he was a month and a half old so there will be lots of catching up and hanging out. I have to say, it's been a wonderful week so far and a great "half" birthday!!
