The BIG CHASE

Aiden is walking....all over the place now. He can even get himself up after falling without crawling over to a piece of furniture (he does so by putting his little behind way up in the air and crab walking backwards with his hands until he's up..it's really quite comical).

He loves nothing more than to be chased so each and every evening Luke and I chase him around the house while he makes little bird like sounds. Last night it was daddy's turn.

There they go....

Teething...ROUND TWO

I know all children are different BUT... most sources (i.e. friends, books, etc) say that the first round of teething is supposed to be the worst. Well I say that's HOGWASH. Aiden is getting some back teeth on top and it has been a nightmare for the last several days. He's been in so much pain, chewing on whatever he can get stuffed into his mouth. My heart hurts to see him like this, so I wish the little white devils would come in already.

Side note: It's going to be pretty interesting to see what he looks like once they do all come in because he has so many teeth on the top and only two on the bottom....picture that!

Naptime Companion

Sleeping has been a little bit of a struggle at daycare lately so I thought that it might help if Aiden took his monkey with him for nap time. This morning was thier first adventure together.

His FIRST outfit

When Luke and I first found out we were pregnant, we were definitley surprised and it took us a little while to buy that first baby item, but when we finally did, it was the cutest little outfit. It was a size 12 months (I know they tell you not to buy that far ahead, but I couldn't resist). Well I am so happy to annouce that this weekend we finally got to put Aid in the first outfit!! He looked so darn cute. He got tons of compliments while in it, as we travelled far and wide visiting friends and family. (I'll post the picture later).

An Amused Aiden

So yesterday, Aiden kept himself amused in the most interesting ways. For example, first, I look over in the kitchen and he's taken several jars of baby food from his cabinet and he's rolling them around the floor all while cracking up every time one rolls away from him. It was just hysterical.

Then later on, I look over and he sitting at the baby gate pokinig his fingers through the holes and each time he does this, again, he cracks up at himself. What a goofball. It's definitely a better mood than he's been in lately. He's cutting two upper back teeth so he's been a little crabby.

He's not so crabby here....amusing himself some more with his cool shades!
A little later in the evening he continued to keep himself amused...what a silly boy.

The Jungle Floor

Ok, so back when Aiden was in the womb and I was running around trying to get his nursery put together I decided that it would be the GREATEST THING EVER to have a shag rug. I wanted to do this because his nursery looks like the jungle so I thought that a green shag rug could look like a grassy floor and that it would complete the look.

I searched and searched and finally found one at Penney's that I really liked. When it came in I unrolled it and LOVED the way it looked....exactly like grass! Well, little did I know that with good looks came an annoying shedding habit. OMG..this things sheds worse than a siberian husky in the desert. I have little green puffs of carpet all over the nursery room and when Kinsey comes into roll around, they get stuck to his paws and entire body for that matter and then he carries them all over the house. IT'S VERY ANNOYING.

Any way, I have managed to stay on top of keeping most of the green fuzz up, but it seems that recently Aiden has found out the rugs little secret as well. Now that he's mobile, we play in his room for a little while before bed time and as he was walking across the room last night, he noticed a piece of fuzz that had attached itself to his pajamas. Being the smart cookie that he is, he realized where the fuzz had come from and preceeded to start pulling more fuzz out of the carpet (I really don't know how there is still a rug left... that's how much this thing sheds). After asking him about 10 times to stop pulling on the rug, I decided that it was bed time. Down he went.

I guess I'm going to have to pull the rug up until he's bigger. That way when he can realize and enjoy the fact that mommy got him what looks like a grassy floor for his jungle room, there will still be a rug left!

Here are some pics of the nursery before Aiden arrived. I have done a pretty good job at keeping it this way since! Can you see the awesome rug?

Aiden this is fork...fork, this is Aiden

It has been some time now since Aiden has had baby food. The day he realized that Luke and I were eating somthing different, he has no interest in being fed. I have been introducing different things to him for several months now. He is very good at eating but recently I have been finding it hard to find things that he can eat with his fingers without making a HUGE mess. He has been working with a spoon for a while now but just yesterday I introduced the fork. I cooked up a little toddler meal and decided to give him the entire thing with the fork and just let him go to town. WOW...HE MADE A MESS. I can't say he and the fork got a long all that well but it was fun watching him!
