An Old Friend

I love having so many friends. It's really a blessing, because most people go through thier entire life with only a few, so to have so many makes me a VERY lucky girl. What's just as great, as having so many friends, is running into old friends and catching up!!

About a year and a half ago Luke and I were out shopping and we ran into an old neighborhood friend of mine. I hadn't seen her in ages so we stood there chatting away for what seemed like forever. We exchanged numbers and that was that. Then, about a month ago, Luke and I were talking and somehow that "run-in" came into the conversation. It's funny how things work because about a week later, this friend called me. I have to admit, I'm not the best at calling people- all of my friends can attest to that, so it was great that she took the initative to call ME!

We made plans to get together and yesterday Aiden and I ventured over there. We had a wondeful afternooon. She has two beautiful children and Aiden had a blast with them. It was SO GREAT to catch up and hear about her family and what she's been up to over the last several years.

The Great Escape

Aiden and go for a run/walk almost every morning and sometimes I can bring the crazy mutt of a dog we call Mackenzie and SOMETIMES I CAN'T (or just don't want to). Today was one of those mornings. I hadn't had the chance to get out with Aiden all week because of the holiday and then the rain so I really wanted to go out, just the two of us.

Well Mackenzie decided that he was having none of that. As soon as I opened the door he dashed out before I could catch him and off he went.

Really...really dog, you are going to do this to me NOW?
NOW...when I'm the only one home and I can't sprint after you because I have Aiden in tow.

Luckily my wonderful neighbor, Sandy, was home so I had her watch Aiden while I chased after the white mess (I really do love him).
I finally spotted him across the neighborhood trying to start a fight with the biggest German Shepherd I have ever seen (Mac would have gotten his doggy butt kicked). I approached them fearfully, appologized to the GS's owner and scooped Mac up. On our walk home I disciplined him as best I could, threw him inside and resumed my walk with Aiden.
Despite the escapte attempt of our wonderful poochie, I've gotta say it was a wonderul walk!!

I can just imagine what he's thinking right now...hehe

Kicked out of Bed

Some mornings Aiden will decide that it's time to get up but Luke and I will STRONGLY disagree. On these frequent occasions we will go in and bring him into our room to hang out for a bit.

Yesterday morning was one of these mornings. I went and got Aiden, who was in a particularly good mood, and brought him back to our room. Usually I place him on the bed and he'll growl his way to daddy (he tries to scare Luke awake and it's really quite cute). This morning however he decided to sprawl out on my side of the bed and when I tried to crawl in next to him he KICKED ME BACK OUT...yeah, that's right...he shoved me right off the side of the bed.

As I gathered myself from the hysterical laughter that had come over me I peeked up over the side of the bed and Aiden and Luke are both sitting there looking at me with smiles from ear to ear. I wish I had taken a picture, it would have made a GREAT one. Next time I'll have to bring my camera to bed so that I'm better prepared.

For now, here are some older ones that I took a few weeks ago!

Baa - Bules

Aiden has a few words in his vocabulary...the usual, mama, daddy (sounds more like yaddy), mac (for Mackenzie) but I've been waiting to hear a different word for weeks now. We work with our picture book everyday, looking at fruits and animals, but I get nothing, which is totally fine ;)

Two days ago when he woke up from nap I could smell the nastiness coming from his diaper and I said UH OH. Seconds later I heard a little faint UH OH come from Aiden. I jumped up and down with joy. I thought it was the greatest thing I had EVER heard....that is until yesterday!!

After his morning nap yesterday (yes, it seems that he's has readjusted himself to two naps again) we came downstairs to play and he spotted the large ziploc bag that holds all of his bubble supplies. Without hesitation he looks at me, points to the bag and says.....BAA BULES. I just kind of stared at him, asking myself if I had heard what I thought I heard. I said bubbles to him and he said it again. THIS was the greatest thing I had heard ever!!! It's crazy how much he's changing everyday.

I know I've said it before, but I am blessed to be able to be with him and witness these amazing changes!

Momma's Lil' Fishy

Luke and I took Aiden swimming this past weekend. Because he was still so small and our community pool didn't get above 70 last year, we weren't able to get him in the water that much. This was his first real experience in the water. It was a little iffy in the beginning but once he got used to the water it was on!

He kicked, and splashed and I even dunked him under a bunch too. He absolutely LOVED it, which makes me a happy momma considering how much I love the water. We're going to go as much as we can so that when it comes beach time, we'll all be ready!!!

LOVING Cousins!

Can you tell how much Aiden doesn't want to share his chair. At first it's smooth sailing, but not so much in the end...

Our Cheerios Picture

I finally got a Cheerios picture. Not as good as Natalie's but still pretty funny (the Sweeney family has a very funny and PERFECT picture of Nat with a cheerio stuck on her face)!

Dad, you have those too?

Luke is going to KILL me when he sees that I posted this picture, but I just couldn't help it.
Back about two weeks ago when I was in a war with the 90 degree temperatures I was doing everything I could NOT to turn the air conditioner in the house on. It got a little steamy in the house so the boys had their shirts off. Aiden crawled up onto the couch and then onto Luke's lap. The next thing I know, I look over to find Aiden intently studying Luke's chest and Luke's giggling telling him to stop. I managed to snap a pic....
