A Perfect Weekend!!

What a weekend it has been!!

It started on Friday. Luke and I weren't supposed to find out the sex of the baby until this coming Monday. However, we were fortunate to be able to find out early, 11:00 am on Friday to be exact. Turns out, the Callas boys are capable of producing little girls!! I am absolutely thrilled!! We are stopping at two, so finding out this time was a little more special. We were hoping for a little girl. Having one of each makes things just perfect!

It was such a pleasant surprise to wake up to snow falling on Saturday. I love a GOOD snow. It turns out Aiden does too. He couldn't stay away from the window! He walked back and forth between the window and front door all morning pointing and saying "noooow". Last year he was still a little small to really appreciate/understand the snow.

This Saturday was special for another reason too. It was my BIG 3-0! Yes, I have finally caught up with the rest of my friends and have entered the dreaded thirties. I welcome this next chapter of my life with open arms. It can only get better! To celebrate the big day, Luke and I headed down to DC with my Aunt Cyndi. We went out on a boat to watch the Festival of Lights boat parade in old town Alexandria. Afterwards we got dropped off in Georgetown where we had an awesome dinner. It was such an awesome day (despite driving in the snow)!
What a truly perfect weekend!!

An Old Friend

I love having so many friends. It's really a blessing, because most people go through thier entire life with only a few, so to have so many makes me a VERY lucky girl. What's just as great, as having so many friends, is running into old friends and catching up!!

About a year and a half ago Luke and I were out shopping and we ran into an old neighborhood friend of mine. I hadn't seen her in ages so we stood there chatting away for what seemed like forever. We exchanged numbers and that was that. Then, about a month ago, Luke and I were talking and somehow that "run-in" came into the conversation. It's funny how things work because about a week later, this friend called me. I have to admit, I'm not the best at calling people- all of my friends can attest to that, so it was great that she took the initative to call ME!

We made plans to get together and yesterday Aiden and I ventured over there. We had a wondeful afternooon. She has two beautiful children and Aiden had a blast with them. It was SO GREAT to catch up and hear about her family and what she's been up to over the last several years.

A Day at the Races!

Every fall my company sponsors the Virginia Fall Races in Middleburg, so we get this amazing spot on the finish line. It was this past weekend and we all had a blast. I even won some money betting on the last race!

Aiden is intrigued by the horses!

Apple Pickin'

This weekend was wonderful. Saturday Luke, Aiden and I got up, hung out for a bit and then headed out to run some errands. In the afternoon, Aiden and I headed over to Clarke County to visit my good friend Kelly who's visiting from Colorado. Karm, Megan and Stace came too and it was such a pleasant afternoon of catching up. We picked apples with all the kiddies and ate some grapes right off the vine. I love hanging out with my good girlfriends from high school. We are so blessed to still have each other and to be so close. It's so funny to look around and think about where we were just five years ago. Now we are settling down and starting families.

Good Friends!
